Camcorder advice needed

DJPARTYBOY (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 4th December 2005, 15:41

Hiya all,
I am looking at getting a new digital camcorder and need advice. My current one is terrible when I film at discos and parties cos the camera automatically focuses on the disco lights and not the people and everything seems too dark, so I really need one which is good at filming in these conditions and also can attach to my pc for editing.

any suggestions?

Steve.

Thats the problem nearly all cameras/camcorders the lens need light so they tend to focus on the brightest thing in the room in auto mode, depending on spec on your machine you can normally fiddle with manual exposures and things to get a better performance. You might want to have a look at the sony range as i have read a few reviews that there night shot mode on them is good, but can not vouch for it personnally. You could do with getting one you can try and send back if not happy with it. QVC is doing a cannon mv800i today only 4/12 as a special for £239 or 3 easy payments with a nightshot mode, looks okay has everything you need for the pc. The best thing is that you can send it back upto 25 jan if not happy with it, even if have used it. Qvc not always the cheapest but their returns policy is excellant.

channel 630 on sky or qvcuk.com if you have got sat

or amazon link below for of one sony review, the nightshot feedback is on Sony DCR-HC22E model however the model below is exactly the same with a cradle and few other leads but is cheaper.
