hi all happy new year!
can anybody tell me if i buy a sky+ box from ebay etc.. will i be able to use it with my standard sky setup and card! because now i have no home telephone sky wont up grade me! even though you only need the phone line for interactive stuff which i never use!

Nope!

It needs two satellite inputs (one for viewing and one for recording), so your dish will need a new lnb with 2 thingamybob sockets on it (sorry - not very technical!) and a second cable running from it to the Sky Plus box. As far as I know it`ll need a completely different card and subscription - the Sky Plus facilities have to be activated by phoning Sky.

At the very most I think all you`ll get is your basic package - none of the recording or viewing features will work.
