Page 1 of Yamaha VS10..general questions

I purchased this machine a couple of weeks ago, mainly because of the praise its recieved here...TY guys!.....brilliant!!!

Whats the yellow component sockets for `monitor out` etc and do I need to use them? (using a optical cable at the moment from DVD )

I remember someway back that somebody said that the sound on the `night mode` is clearer and to leave it on the setting constantly and would I have to set up the speaker balances in this mode or standard mode...any views??

I`m very impressed with this and it doesn`t do a bad job with CD`s either.
