36" Tosh CRT or 40" Tosh RP - which one?

Hi,

I`ve already ordered a Toshiba 36ZP18P, which is due to arrive on Friday. However,I have now seen RP TVs - (40" are within my "size restrictions"). These sets blew me away, simply the size - 40" is exactly the sort of upgrade I wanted from my 25" TV.

I`m just not sure what to do now,I can get the Toshiba 40WH08B for around £150 less then I paid for the 36ZP. Can anyone please give pro`s and cons and some opinions.

Much appreciated!

Rishi

I recently bought the 36" CRT.
When looking at the RP TV`s I always felt it depended were your seating position is. With a RP I felt you really need to be sat head on.

I personally think the picture quality of the CRT tubes is far superior.
My next step after this tosh36 CRT, to get more size, will no doubt be to a Plasma, as in a few years these will be affordable.

If the CRT was only available in 32" then i would have really considered the 40" RP`s but a 36" CRT versus a 40" RP.
In my mind the size difference between 36 & 40 wasn`t enough to consider the RP.

The problem is there is no answer to your question it is totally personal choice :-).
My advice stick with the 36 CRT its a great set, although someone will no doubt now follow my post and say go for the 40 RP :-)

I have also found http://www.unbeatable.co.uk good on TV prices, though I`ve not looked for the models mentioned (way out of my league!)
