What`s the score there then ?
Does the SKY+ box `downgrade` the HD signal as it records ?
So you lose the HD on playback ?

Not sure, but I have to ask. If it did "downgrade" the signal why would you want to record it as it is only a mirror of what you can get non HD.

Its still HD after you record it, there would be no point in being able to record HD if your only gonnna get standard, i`ve tested and its indeed HD playback

Does the HD box incorporate it`s own Hard drive recorder ?

It is a Sky+ box at heart, so yes.

Ah,I see now.
I thought you kept your existing SKY+ box and the HD box was just `added on`
I see now that it is,in fact,a whole new box.
