Page 1 of Play CD-R with Samsung DVD 511player

Samsung DVD 511 can`t play CD-R by default.
Is it possible to make a modification on DVD player to allow playing CD-R?

Not without changing the actual laser unit. The one fitted to the 511 by default simply isn`t capable of reading the vast majority of CD-Rs - the discs aren`t reflective enough. The 611 and higher players use a "dual-wavelength" laser unit which can read CD-Rs and RWs just fine.

Very simple, to get CD-Rs to work you need to use certain CDR Media. Use `Princo` Branded Media, you can buy this here:

I currently use `DATASafe` Media as its made by `Princo`. Hope this helps.
