Must have optical digital output and dts.

Others will disagree but keep a wee eye on Aldi/Lidl. They usually have a DVD with DTS regularly, not too sure about Optical though mate :)

Not really vague as standard cheaper dvd players are hard to come across with optical out these days. Most have coaxial.
Opted for Sanyo sx25 on Amazon in the end.
