Could anyone please help me ?
For the first time I have tried to use DL disc`s but both my DVD drives only seem to see a std dvd.
I am using NERO 6 and trying to convert, ahem, a film I downloaded, but Im told by NERO that there isnt enough room on the disc, which shows just over 5gig on the scale, so I should really have plenty of space.
Any help greatfuly recieved.

Firstly you need to be sure that the drives accept DL discs.
Secondly,I have found that many drives dont clearly show that they accept DL DVD+ discs but not DL DVD-.
There are settings on some software (dont know for sure about Nero) where you will need to let the software program know that you want to burn 8.5Gb.
It will default to a single layer setting so you must alter those presets(assuming it has them) to let it know a DL disc is being used.
My burner switches to nero after I encode using DVD Shrink and its DVDS that has settings to change the compression so I`ve never touched Nero for that
Thanks for your reply,
I have een successful in recording to a DL disc, afetr some tweeks in NERO, although NERO still says that the storage isnt enough for a normal disc then offers me the option of using region 9 (I believe this is DL) which I accept and the burn goes ahead.
so up to now it does work.
Thanks again.
