A new version of software from Russian author val238 got released which allows to read an LG HDD from digital LG recorders by PC and to copy the records onto PC HDD.
val238 made immense improvements compared to limited well working versions 1.01 to 1.04.

NOW IT REALLY WORKS !

I tested it under Win2000 on my Asus Mainboard A7V880 PC with CPU AMD Athlon 3200/400.

Rename copied files from *.str or *.vro to *.vob and you can play them on your PC with SW player PowerDVD or similar.
You may rename them to *.mpg or *.avi and you can edit them by video editing SW.

You can find SW, more details and screenshots in German Forum dvdboard.de

#61 (v1.05a)

and on Unofficial LG RHxxxx Homepage

and original information from Russian author val238 on

For using this SW you have to remove the HDD from your LG recorder and to connect it by IDE/USB adaptor or directly by IDE port to your PC.

PLEASE report your experiences, we all are very much interested.

Best wishes, good success and enjoy this highly valuable nice little software!

PS: Many thanks to author val238!
