Chipping of Sony DVD Players

Kristoff (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 17th December 2001, 22:26

I have a Wharfedale M5 Player at present, but as part of a deal I have got my hands on a Sony DVPNS300 player too. 3 questions for the forum

1)What player am I better keeping, as I`m giving the one I don`t keep to my parents??
2)If I keep the Sony, has anybody had their player chipped, what was their opinion on the whole thing??
and
3)Had anybody had experience of then new Solder Free Mod that dvdchips.co.uk are offering, is a permanent fix, or does it revert back to R2 when ie the player loses power for example??

Thanks to all,

Kris

Permanant fix ... the same technique as used by chippers all over the UK using the service remote from here

http://side.nexen.net/html/categories.php?op=newindex&catid=5

only difference is that the remote has be altered for once only use

however the features listed on HKmod are confusing

Features:
AUTO ( correct )
RCE ( only true for some players)
NO MACRO ( Means no it doesnt disable macro !!)

Does anyone have experience of it ?? the answer is NO ... only one person has so far ordered it and it wont arrive with him till noon Tuesday

And the result was ...... " it doesnt work " and that translates to
"I didnt follow the instructions properly"

Perhaps the public are not ready for such a device where you have to press a series of buttons :((
