Tesco just recalled Wharfedale ` deathtrap ` TV`s !

Without any prompting from me, and without any knowledge of the messages on this forum, my mate`s just been called by Tesco to say they`re going to come and collect his Wharfedale widescreen TV ( god knows what model but it`s 28 inch and silver - same as Naiko ) and they`re going to give him his £300 back ! His already had the ` mod ` done as well.
Brilliant !
He`s chuffed coz he realised his error in buying a cheap Widescreen TV as soon as he got it home. He`s now going to buy a proper widescreen TV with better formatting and better connectivity.
There does appear to be a santa after all ! I can`t see Wharfedale being flavour of the month at Tesco though, what with this and the DVD player problems..

Thing is the `deathtrap` model i spoke of is not the widescreen, but the 4:3 one.

I know, but the widescreen model had potential fire hazrd problems as well !
So they issued a recall about 6 months ago and fixed them.
Now they`ve obviously bottled it with anything to do with Wharfedale and I can see Wharfedale`s sales reps cancelling their new kitchens right now....

I bought a wharfedale telly last year but when I got it home I noticed a slight colour glitch in the bottom left hand corner, they didnt have any more in stock so I had to have a refund. I am glad now I dont still have it.

On a good point though I did like it because it somehow managed to tune into and unscramble all of the NTL channels
