Ipod Classic 80Gb - TV out lead

Hi, anyone know of cheaper Video/Audio out leads for new classic Ipod, (connects to the bottom port of Ipod). As official Apple one is approx. £35 :o

I didn`t realise they were any different to the last `classic` ipods.
I just used the cable that came with my video camera (3.5mm jack with 3 `bands` on it) that has the composite connection (red, yellow & white phono jacks).

The phono jacks don`t correspond to the colours, so red was the video signal, and the yellow & white were audio...but it still works a treat.

Great when you go on a skiing hol and people want something to watch before heading out for the night :D

Apparently the new classic will only output to TV via the bottom port and not the headphone port. I stand to be corrected.

I got a mains charger, car charger and retractable TV out lead (which goes from the slot on the base of the ipod to 3 x phono leads) posted from the US for just over a tenner on ebay and all work fine.

This is the fellow; and see their ebay shop for other ipod stuff. They combine postage.

Recieved TV out lead - Composite, Ipod dock connection on one end and three phono plugs( Red, White-Audio and Yellow-Video) on the other, does not work on the new Ipod Classic 80Gb :(

On that ebay link above it says:
Quote:
Dock connector plugs directly into the iPod

Then it says:
Quote:
Apple Universal Dock is required for TV out function

Which is a little strange.

We have a 30gb ipod video and ipod to phono leads works fine; hope you can get a cheap adaptor if you need one.

Remember you have to go into video settings to switch to tv out

Yes, I tried TV Out and PAL and NTSC (just in case) and only got sound, not sure if mono or stereo though & no video.
I supose it could be that the colours on the lead are incorrect?
Too late to try it now, but may try tomorrow.

I read somewhere that the new Ipod classic has Video out disabled from the headphone port and will only out put video from the bottom dock connector port. However this does not seem to work with the lead I have. Maybe a faulty lead or incorrect one?

Any more ideas?
