hi am thinking of buying a tv/dvd combi and just wondered how i can find out of the dvd player will play region 1 dvd`s?

A lot of the ones you see in Makro are multi region already, Akura springs to mind.

Best bet is go and have a look and take a region 1 disc with you to try.

Or check the hack list to see if the model you are looking at is hackable.
