It`s had some good reviews for the price, and I have a 512 (the predecessor) which I`m happy with.

hi herbert

i got one of these (ad-l528) players and i honestly have to say it was not very impressive, the unit was noisy and vibrated, the picture wasn`t centred and had artefacts, it wouldn`t read discs easily, the multi-region didn`t play all RCE disks (i.e. Toy Story 2), the VCD playback was poor, lots of sync probs on a few DVD/VCDs, the mp3 player chopped 2 secs off, the macrovision can`t be turned off.....need i go on?

i returned it and bought the dansai dvd 852 from tescos for 99.49 and it is a superior machine, plays DVD/VCD/cheap CD-Rs/mp3s superbly, quiet, works like a charm - none of the hassles i experienced with the cyberhome (unless i got a `lemon`). only minor problems i do have it that the load screen has a horrible `tesco` message on it (which you have to look at while playing audio CDs) and it doesn`t automatically `kick` the picture format on my tv - you know when you have a widescreen title and it stays 4:3 until you select the correct ratio on your tv. i have recommended the dansai to some friends and they are of the same opinion - for under £100 this player kicks!

have to agree with winactive. it sounded good in `home entertainment` magazine (oct 01) and i went and purchased one last week. now i am in the process of returning it and it`s costing me 20 quid in postage. lesson being - don`t always believe magazines as they get specially prepared machines, instead look at what jo public has got to say. my advice - buy a cyberhome if your into exercise (you can use it as a step)!
