Alba recording problem!!

I have an unlocked region player.When I record region 2 discs through my video they come out fine but if I play a region 1 disc I can watch it but when I record the colour and quality is greatly reduced.
Can anyone help get round this???

try buying a thompson video,they pick up the ntsc signal,i got mine for £69.99.

I can watch it through my video but it won`t record it.I need something to remove the macrovision?Any ideas??
