Page 1 of Anyone noticed weird goings on with widescreen on Telewest for bbc

Telewest Cable is having issues with Sports broadcasts on BBC (African Football & Winter Olympics) which are broadcast in widescreen.

There screen converts to letterbox with two pretty plack & blue vertical lines on the left & right. Has anyone else noticed this

It`s not just Telewest - NTL have the same problem as well.

So does SKY.
Used to notice it on Match of the day, when they did football on BBC...
Feature matches were widescreen, but highlights had the pretty blue bands down either side.
I just used to switch between SKY an BBC to get the whole lot in widescreen.

Glad it`s not just me!

Weird how its only BBC though!!!!!!
