TV Speakers (Newbie)

Should they be off when my TV plays through my DVD speakers or be left on?

the choice is yours really but I personally turn my tv speakers off,as I run sky plus through my amp/dvd and they broadcast a fraction of a second or two behind normal tv. If I leave the tv speakers on then I get a funny echo effect.

with tv speakers on you get an echo which spoils the surround sound
a lot better with them turned off
