Page 1 of Pioneer DV-444 problems!!

can anyone help!!, I`ve just bought the dv-444(multi-region) but it wont
play copied VCD`s & SVCD`s, the display acknowledges that the disk is in and it spins but thats it, Is there something I`m not doin?

It will play VCd & SVCD . I had one but it crashed a couple of times & although it says it will `go to` a specific time IE. 45 minutes this menu will not come up on SVCDs. Meaning if it crashes 45 minutes into a SVCD you will have to spend 10 minutes fast forwarding it. I reluctantly sent it back & have since bought one of the MICAs on sale in Sainsburys & it plays everything & has a better picture than the 444. & it`s only £89-99. BUT in short supply.

I`ve got a non multi reg dv-444 and it plays all my vcd and svcd disks fine ? ,I use nero to make the copies up .You just select the vcd format in the nero wizard select what you want to backup and it does it all for you :] .Theres also a svcd addon to nero so you can convert divx to svcd .Hope this helps you ?
