DECCA 2110 HELP

natlol (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 20th March 2002, 23:57

I just brought the above player upon reccommendation from people on this site. I have disabled macrovision and also made the player multiregion I am however having two main problems with it:

1. During playback of american pie two (region 1) i get a frequent skip in the playback whereby the footage jerks.

2. During playback of any region disc i get strange noises in the sound. You can actually hear the laser reading the disc through the speakers. I have tried connecting the sound through the hifi, tv and computer. Incidently if the volume is turned to 0 you can still here the noise of the laser.

Has anyone had similar experiances? or should this go back to the shop.

Thanks in advance

Nath

Two days ago I also bought a Decca DVD from Power House which was easy to make region free and I disabled macrovision. I am very happy with it and it plays all the disks ie CDR ,MP3,and any region . However I too am getting the strange noises through my speakers. Until I read your message I thought I had a problem with my HIFI. I will proberly take it back and try another and hopefully that one will be better.

I took my decca 2110 back today and changed it for another and I am pleased to say this one sounds perfect.
