Does anyone know whether this machine plays copied VCD`s & SVCD`s
I am thinking of swapping my pioneer 444 for one as it doesn`t play these disks,
also can anyone tell me where I can buy one from as sainsbury`s told me they werent having anymore in.
Thanks John
it will play anythimng you care to throw at it, & ask "is that it? Come on, TEST ME!"
As for availability, I work for Sainsbuy`s & we`ve been "waiting" for them for 3 weeks, the £89.99 offer finishes soon, so if the usual is going to happen, thenshit loads will arrive the next day. But seeing as the price difference is only a tenner, it`s still the buy of the moment.
A lot of dvd players are currently stuck in the ports because of the issue with phillips. The scan shipment was delayed for 2 weeks. They still havent
decided on the 3c licence so expect player shortages.

Just had a call from Sainsbury`s London Colney (on M25 north), new stock in today.
I`ve been backwards and forwards for the last fortnight, gave up, ordered a Mico Celo yesterday via web/mailorder .... and here they arrive today!
A doctored Pioneer 444 was on my shortlist, but when I read about the VCD problem and even after chipping it`s PAL 60 only, I decided against it. Some places aren`t bothering removing Macrovision any more either (it doesn`t remove it properly, one vendor said).

I found this in Sainsbury`s on Wednesday and hadn`t heard anything about it. I was interested in it because of the component out because my new TV has the inputs (the tv is the toshiba 36zp18p). I had already said I`d buy it when the assistant then told me it had got best buy in `what tv and video` magazine.
Very similar picture to the cheap Oritron1030 which has an amazing picture. The only other DVD player I`ve had was the Samsung m105 which has inferior pictures. The Samsung also has random glitches every so often in the picture (not often at all though- about once or twice each film at different parts) as if it is overstretched slightly and occasionally can`t cope.
Just called the Savacentre at White Rose Leeds and was told that they did not have any in stock and were awaiting new imports and it would be 3 weeks. He also told me that they had sold out nationwide but from the comments above I am not sure how true this is.
I have sent an email to Sainburys customer service requesting details of any stores that have the player in stock and also timescales for new stock in stores near my location. If I get a decent reply I will post details here.
Meanwhile has anybody seen these players in the West Yorkshire region recently, I don`t know if I can wait 3 weeks.
Sainsbury customer services told me there were no MICOs within 400 miles of the south coast, I found one after two phone calls 30 miles away.
BUT this was three weeks ago. I don`t have much faith in Sainsburys customer services. I see they have a `crown` DVD for £99.00 but I expect it is just another run of the mill cheap player.
I forgot to mention that I had to have the one on display because they had sold them all. I suppose I was lucky to get it.
Can someone tell what the Mp3 playback menu is like?
Do you get track names? Does it play Mpeg videos burnt as data like an Mp3 disc??
