Pacific DVD-750 (Asda) or Decca 2110 (Powerhouse)?
Does anyone (in the UK) have experience of both these players?
I purchased the Pacific from Asda a couple of days back and although it is quite good, the Macrovision hack is not available, (presumably they have updated the firmware) - MP3`s seem to play without repeating the first second of the track though unlike earlier reports that I have read for this model.
Does the Decca show full length file names or MP3 ID names on the screen for MP3`s?
(The Pacific just shows meaningless letters).
I believe the Decca is the same as the Dansai 852 (Tesco), with a few minor differences.
I`ve also heard that even if you can find a Tesco`s with stock of the Dansai`s, the macrovision disable feature is no longer present on the latest batches - is this right?
The Pacific comes with 3 year warranty and I think that the Decca only has one year warranty - anyone have any experiances of the reliablity of these models?
The Pacific is £89 & the Decca is £109 - is the Decca worth the extra £20?
Can anyone who has purchased the Decca in the last week or two verify that the Macrovision can still be disabled? (or have the "macrovision police" got to them too?).
Thanks
PS - I presume there won`t be any problems in returning the Pacific to Asda if I decide to change it for the Decca???
RE: Pacific DVD-750 (Asda) or Decca 2110 (Powerhouse)?
My m8 bought one last week and he confirms macro can still be disbled. The Decca can be updated to a 3 year onsite warranty for £20. If you use this link http://www.powerhouse.co.uk/mum you will find the Decca to be £98.99 and not £109.
Other advantages,
Decca wil easily play VCD`s, SVCD`s. It will even play my home made VCD`s that I made with Nero. It can play DVD-R. Decca has 2 kareoke ports and can output DTS.
