Black Ops Or Medal Of Honour (online)

tried to make this a Poll, but the new site won`t let me (at least in firefox)

anyhoo,  i nipped out to get MOH for the ps3 today, but Blockbuster still want £40.99p for it (new) & tesco want £36 :/  it`s pointless getting it second hand due to the initial registration bollox,

so,  has anyone here got both games ?  if so, how do you rate MOH against Blops,  bearing in mind i didn`t like Bad Company 2 online...

Chris, ebuyer are doing MoH for £18.37 new (linky)

you all know my thoughts regarding BLOPS... i`ve tried (twice) to like
it, but as the saying goes... you can`t polish a turd.

saying that... i`ve also just bought a cheap second hand copy of WaW for
the PS3, and although Treyarch made it, it`s a million times better than
BLOPS... can`t understand how they had two years to **** up a perfectly
good engine? WaW plays just like MW1 apart from the weaponry.

MoH will take some getting used to, it seems a bit more tactical than MW2
and BLOPS, probably because there are 12 on each team and the pace
of the game is a touch slower (30Fps as opposed to 60Fps also makes it
feel "heavier"). i like it because i don`t seem to have to run around the map
as much to get kills.... most people use the sniper class which with combat
sights is almost like your beloved ACR with acog sights!!!

i`d definitely get it, but you`ll have to put a few hours in to get decent at it
as it`s that bit harder to get decent scorechains (killstreaks).

i did manage to go a whole 3 hours on MW2 last night without coming across
any cheating... felt good tbh. hopefully the cheating scrotes have ****ed right
off and got bored? doesn`t put right my score though (was in the 700,000`s
and 400,000`s for kills / score respectively), but at least i can whittle it down
from 12,300,000 ;)

I was Saving up for KZ3, but noticed MOH is only £22 in Asda at the moment, (both ps3 & 360)

Couldnt resist....

Hmmm....  can`t make my mind up about this game,  did ok on the 3 games i had on multiplayer (1st game 1.0 kd, 2nd game 1.50kd, 3rd game 0.8kd,  on BLOPS my overall KD is 1.60)  but the "look" controlls are a bit jerky, but only sometimes, like it`s suffering either lan lag, or the ps3`s struggling to run the game smoothly :/ i had thought it might be the fragnstein not liking the game, but it works perfectly in single player campaign

& speaking of the campaign mode,  is it me, or are the GFX a bit poor ?  kinda on par with MW1,  certanly not close to MW2 or Blops..

As a comparison, my sons old AMD skt 989 dual core XP3800 + ancient Nvidia 7900GTX card trounces it into the ground looks wise, bearing in mind that pc is over 5yrs old :/   & my little baby Zotac Ion2 media box looks fairly close to the ps3 version of MOH (ps3 in 720p mode)  although at the same GFX level, the ps3 runs the game a bit more smoothly,  but still a surprise from such a new game ?

that said,  even if i prefere Blops multiplayer over MOH,  i do think i`ll play MOH single player, whereas i never played MW2 or Blops single player at all..

once you get into MoH online, it`s pretty good. the problem is adjusting to
the slower framerate compared to MW2 or dare i say it BLOPS (when it runs
smoothly).

some of the game modes are ace, combat mission (i think it`s called that) has
you reaching objectives and each time a new one is captures, the map opens
up and gets loads bigger. didn`t realise that pressing either square or "x" spawns
you at different points on the map (either base or frontline). kept pressing "x" and
had to run for ages until i got back into the action.

It`s the juddery controls that bug me the most, it`s like the single player & multiplayer are 2 totally different games :/

Also, I can`t figure out how to customise my weapons, ie, adding red dot sights etc...

they are mate... danger close developed the single player game and dice did the
multiplayer.... they`re two totally different engines.

to change your weapon attributes, you have to earn the unlock then (in multiplayer
mode at least) press R1 to highlight customise weapon. you can then add the red dot sight
or whatever else you`ve unlocked.

that explains a lot...  i`ve now given up on multiplayer,   the mouse movements are awfull,  esp on fine movement,  maybe it`s the DAC in the fragnstein,  but i doubt it as all other games play fine (including MOH single player :/ )

Mebbes it`s the dodgy Ogster-fix used on such sensitive devices ;)
