Laptop question

RWB (Elite) posted this on Friday, 13th June 2003, 16:49

My laptop has been experiencing some problems for ages now, and although it has just returned from its third trip to Compaq HQ, it is *still* not working properly.

I now have the possibility of getting a full refund (at last), so since I will use the money to buy a new laptop, what make/models come recommended?

Thanks in advance. :)

Toshiba do good laptops, although the top end ones - as with all manufacturers, are expensive. Sony Vios(sp?) are good but are a bit fragile agian.

Dell have got to be some of the worst laptops I`ve ever worked on. I used to work for their 3rd party service company and the failure rate was astounding. I once had to visit a client`s site three times in one week for the same laptop (different faults each time).

Well done for the dodgey link, finally found the Tosh @ £999.99.

Looks OK, nothing special about the price though it has to be said.

Apologies for the dodgy link...copied off their site...seems to have gone funny when entered into the message field on here.

So, is it worth getting?
