Best DVD-R Media?

Cerbera (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 15th June 2003, 14:52

Can anyone recommend a reliable and still reasonably cheap make of DVD-R media for use with the Pioneer DVR-105? As the drive is capable of 4x writes, would like to find a media that`s capable and reliable at this speed.

RITEK G04 disks are probably the best for writing on the A05, they are probably the most expensive too.

I`ve tried the PRINCO disks and found not to have any problem writing are X4, movies and data. the princo disks are alot cheaper than the ritek disks.

I second that. Any Ritek manufactured discs are the best.

I`ve now tried the Datawrite Red 4x (Princo Dye) cos they were cheap and had nothing but bother with my Pioneer 105 at any speed. Seem to be problematic if you try to fill the DVD.

I`m now gonna look for Ritek G04 Dye based media which seems to be the recommended media. More expensive but if it avoids coasters then it`ll be worth the extra.
