The standard DivX codec (as opposed to DivX PRO) is ad-free. You can download it from:

http://www.divx.com/divx/

Just ignore the DivX PRO bits, and click on the link below which says "Download the DivX codec (no cost)".

Try this link for ace codec pack ... i know its large but it installs all the codecs you will ever need ... never had any problems to date http://divxstation.com/softwareId.asp?sId=135

PICvideo is one of the best, and a quick look on www.astalavista.com will give you the necessary codes to get rid of the ad.
