Page 1 of Nokia 6230, Any One Had Any Problems?

Juat asking because I`d decided to go for the Nokia 6230 over the Sharp gx30 after reading Ogster`s recommendation and seeing my friends but O2 have been out of stock since the end of June, which they`ve told me was due to Nokia being unable to keep up the demand of stock but I`ve started working at O2 yesterday and I`ve been told by my trainer that the explanation that`s on the computer is that they`ve stopped stocking them due to problems with the handsets? Havn`t seen anyone else complaing about them, was wondering if they`ve got it wrong?

tbh, i`ve not had i single psoblem with mine, and i know quite a few others who have the 6230 and as far as i know none of them have had any probs :/ so i dunno, but it`s not just 02 that can`t get the phones, other deallers are struggling to get enough of them, probably why they still fetch silly money on ebay, when i got mine i had to do a search of all the carphone warehouse shops accross 3 towns before i finally got a shop with stock, i`ll do a google search for reviews, this`ll find out whats what :)

I`ve been after one of these as well. Since I have a cracking deal on O2 (line rental £100 per year for 600 minutes off-peak calls per month) I`m restricted in where I can upgrade the phone - basically the O2 shops! And they never have the phone...O2 themselves say they`re waiting for more but are not sure when they`ll arrive.

Oh well, I`ll just have to stick to the iPod ;)

I`ve spoke to someone else who`s started training on the upgrades department and he`s said that he hasn`t heard anything and that they are due back in stock at the end of this month, looks like my trainer`s got it wrong, but they still seem to think that there is a problem, I`m just gonna get one anyway if no one else has had any problems

tbh, i still think it`s the best phone i`ve had :) i`ll not be upgrading for a while.

My mate as got one of these phones on Orange and he as sent 2 phones back due to a software problem. The problem is when he turns his phone off overnight he as to reset the time and date when he switches the phone back on, Orange have acknowledged the problem. It asn`t put him off though and he still maintains that it`s the best phone he`s ever had.

odd, out of interest is the phone "ORANGE" branded, (ie locked to orange)

Yes it is locked to Orange. As i understand it most phones normally come out last on Orange as they have their own software, don`t know if this is reason the phone is playing up, he gets his new one (again) today i will ask him and post again. BTW it hasn`t put me off either i`ve had a play with the phone and it is a really good spec phone, and it looks good too. :D

tbh, i`ve heard of this kind of thing happening when phones are locked, but the issues are usually resolved fairly quickly :)

My mate recieved his new 6230 today and so far no problems with it, but the courier did say that he had collected a few of these phones from customers that had had problems but he didn`t elaborate on the cause of the problem :/
