Converting Video formats

NO1FAN (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 6th October 2004, 23:26

Does anyone know how I can convert a video format from IFO to mpeg?

Proggies like:
DVD 2 VCD
DVD 2 SVCD
DVD 2 AVi (then reconvert to Mpeg)

Although...the IFO file just tells the player what it`s doing, it`s the VOB files that need converting.

If it`s an iSo file, lemme know cause I have a wee extraction facility that works wonders on them doods :)

Ah, you`ve either gotten a RAM or an RW disc recorded in VR mode! Lol
I`ve tried a few conversions from RAM to VOB, but all failed in one way or another (lip synch being my biggest pain in the head...), but I think EmilyHoward has managed to successfully change them?

TMPGenc is one proggie that apparently now handles them, as apparently does Nero.
It may be a case of converting to one format then back again, I prefer uncompressed AVi`s and VirtualDub when doing anything like that, but ya need a spare huuuuuuuuuge hard drive!

Thing is, it already *is* an Mpeg!

Depends on what the problem actually is...you haven`t told us waht;s wrong, just that you wanted to convert from one format to another.
