you can get one a lot better than above for under £500 from somewhere like novatech.co.uk

i built a decent spec system for a mate the other week,

XP3200 cpu (400mhz fsb ) + asrok mobo + fan £110
512meg ddr400 £42 (branded)
200gig western dig hard drive £70
case £30
he he used his own gear from his old pc to complete the build, but you see where i`m going, and the mobo had built in graphics & 5.1 sound (tho my mate did not use it) so you could just drop the mobo in with a cpu, add memory & hard drive & you have a very servicable pc :) bearing in mind the same mobo with an XP2600 cpu was only £80 and you could do that even cheaper, amd XP chips bellow 3200 don`t need (& can`t use) the 400mhz fsb, and you can pick up a pc chips mobo with sound + graphics for less than £25, i`ve also seen reconditioned 21" trinitron monitors at the computer fair for less than £60, so if you went down the self built route you could still be in the same £150 ballpark but have a brand new system (apart from the monitor) with a better spec, granted without s dedicated graphics card it won`t be brilliant with newer games, but it`s still a speedy system for what you need, & don`t be put of about building it yourself, because it`s a lot easier than you may think :) and theres allways help here if you get stuck ;)
