Page 1 of when browsing internet i keep returning to desktop ! ! ! ! ! H E L P

HI
every time i browse the internet after a few clicks of finding something ive searched long and hard for the damm computer returns to desktop. its very frustrating and has been happening for about a month now. i cant relate it to anything specific i have added or done on the computer . i have been advised to download spybot and adaware but every time i search the hard drives it comes up with various different files i dont understand and am reluctant to delete just in case it messes with the settings of programs as it has in the past. it is really annoying me now and i am getting to the stage where maybe a restore will be the only option but i have many files i have created / installed in the last month i.e photos of the kids/ patches / files to games etc
is ther a simple setting perhaps that has dislodged itself or is it more complicated

Don`t worry about deleting stuff that Spybot and Adaware find, those files are adware/spyware and probably the cause of your problem. You might also want to try an online scan here and/or here (both highly recommended by me and other members of these forums) :)

could be a dodgy toolbar you have downloaded.. i had one in the past that thought every new search window was a popup and zapped it.. therefore i could only have one window open
