RE: Samsung D500 OR Nokia 6600?

hope this helped
RE: Samsung D500 OR Nokia 6600?
Thanks, I just got the d500, I`ve never owned a nokia and only ever owned samsungs, so I though I better stick with what I know best, and I`m not disappointed - it`s brilliant! :)
RE: Samsung D500 OR Nokia 6600?
I have had a Nokia 6600 for ages, in fact im on my second, the worst phone I have ever owned, always had Nokia (just used to the way they work) but the 6600 has been awful!!!
It freezes all the time and once you have a large number of txt messages stored or phone call logs etc (which is meant to be one of it plus points) the whole thing grinds to a halt. Has been the same with both of them.
So not sure what to change for, D500 maybe??
RE: Samsung D500 OR Nokia 6600?
I have to say that the Samsung D500 is an amazing little phone. I waited for ages for Samsung to finally release a Bluetooth enabled handset, and they have exceeded themselves (and demand if the press is right)
I also owned a Nokia 6600 for a while but the bulk of it was really annoying and constantly wieghed down my pockets, aside from this the 6600 does have some amazing software and features.
Getting back to the Samnsung D500, small, nice slide function, clear pictures and video - 1.3 mega pixel camera, the additional loudspeaker makes for great MP3 playing.
Something you should know if you are considering buying a Samsung D500 is that UK stock availability is bad. At the moment, it is virtually impossible to get the Samsung D500 on Orange, most have stock of it on T-Mobile Vodafone & O2. Be careful of price hikes, since the UK stock shortages were announced some retailers put the price of the Samsung D500 way above what it should be. I bought mine from a website that compares prices on the different networks and I gotts say I have a blinding deal.
The website was: http://www.BestBuyMobilePhones.com
Hope this helps anyone undecided about the Samsung D500 :)

RE: Samsung D500 OR Nokia 6600?
Thats usefull Andy thanks, just found out T-Mobile will let me have one free. I am nervous having only EVER had Nokia phones.
T-mobile say I can have pretty much any phone thats out (I give them alot of money you see), so you think the D500 is the one? Morola V3 as well, though this has far less features.
Any problems or annoying things you have found at all? Does it sll work? And is it sturdy enough would you say? (open to all of course!)
Thanks for the input by the way
Nick

i`ll be able to give you my proper opinion in a couple of weeks when the wifes new contract d500 apears ;) who knows, even the trusty 6230 may get pushed to one side (doubt it tho)

RE: Samsung D500 OR Nokia 6600?
UPDATE
righto, the wifes D500 came yesterday & it`s a nice little phone, the camera`s pics seem very nice (i`ll update when i get a pic onto the pc, then i`ll see the quality properly) it`s very loud when used as an mp3 player (compared to other phones) & the mp3 player is easy to use, i really hate the samsung menu system & the D500 is no exception, having large hands i also find the keypad hard to use due to the way it slides open (especialy the topmost keys) the memory is excelent in relation to most phones, at 80meg it`s around 8 times more than the average, but the lack of a card reader is an awfull emision, especialy as the mp3 player seems so good, i personaly used 2 x 256 meg cards with my 6230 so 80meg would not have been enough for me a set of stereo headphones/handsfree is suplied in the box so i`m assuming the phone outputs in stereo rather than mono, which is one up on nokia`s recent efforts (apart from the 6230 ;) ) the screen is Very nice and much better than my 6230 & the 7610 the camera flash is a total gimmick, but as it can be used as a torch all is not lost :D
all in all, the D500 (so far) seems a very nice, well rounded mobile, if you like flip/slide phones i`d highly recomend it, but i`ll stick to my 6230, it just suites me better, although the wife obviously disagrees as her almost new 6230 is for sale here http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=114&Thread=409410&Type=1
going cheap btw ;)
