Any good, easy to use website design software?

Ben Franklin (Reviewer) posted this on Sunday, 13th November 2005, 14:21

My sisters want to create a website, and I`ve told them I`d give them a hand. But I don`t have a lot of time, so wanted something quite quick and straightforward, so I can get them online in the shortest time possible with good looking results.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Thanks!

Try word - lets you do basic stuff then save it as a webpage. If you have got MS office then frontpage comes with it and is ok. Alternative is the `website oin a bag` thing i have seen advertised which gives you a domain name, hosting and software etc. for about £20.

SiteSpinner is a doddle:

There`s a trial version you can download to try too. If my Dad can use it, anyone can!!

I do use SiteSpinner (the free version, with less functionality, is called Web Dwarf), but positioning items correctly on the page can be very awkward and frustrating at times. I have found SiteGenWiz from Enersoft to be much the easiest for a beginner, especially if your site has a multi-page structure - again there is a non-time limited free version, but with some limitations on the maximum number of pages. Have a look here:

Not too expensive if you decide to buy it, and worth the cost IMHO.
