Problems with rollover images in Dreamweaver

Fitz (Elite) posted this on Monday, 9th January 2006, 13:15

I`m very much a Dreamweaver newbie and am trying to create rollover images. I follow the instructions exactly (or so I think), but all that happens is that the original image file has a crosshatched layer imposed on it and the rollover doesn`t work. I am using the WSIWYG feature of Dreamweaver as I can`t write HTML code. Any advice would be appreciated please.

Thanks

JF

You need to create 2 identically sized .gif files. One is your button normally, the other the rollover version. ie: button.gif and button_over.gif

Put your cursor on the page where you want the button and select (you may have to bear with me because I haven`t got Dreamweaver installed on this machine so I`m doing it from memory!) Insert - Object - Roll Over Image

In the box you browse to the original image and the rollover in the approprite boxes and fill in the link.

That should be it I think!

Thanks for reply. I`ll have another try, but I thought that was what I was doing. Onward and upward. :)
