Intel to release Quad core BEFORE Xmas !!!!!!!!!

MADTheOgster (Elite Donator) posted this on Sunday, 20th August 2006, 21:17

looks like i`ll be holding off buying a core duo till i find out the cost of these baby`s :D especialy since it`s unlikely that the mobo i just bought will be compatable........

i`ve been an amd fanboy for a good five years (& bang for buck wise, rightly so) but at the moment it looks like the rest of the decade belongs to Intel.

Yes I heard about this a couple of weeks ago. I am sure Intel had this ready a while ago. Seems coincidental that this is announced after AMD attempt to find a way to match Intel with announcement of quad core processors? It does look like an uphill struggle for AMD unless they have something up their sleeves.

yeah, the intel quad cores where due second quarter of 2007, & it is a little coincidental that amd say they "hope" to show quad core prototypes in the 4th quarter 2006, suddenly intel are ready to release them almost immediately,,,,,,,,

not that i care, as long as they are stable & give a decent boost above the previous technology (ie core duo) & the price is right, then i`ll consider it, otherwise i`ll just wait for the inevitable core duo price drop & get the best one of those i can afford at the time ;)
