PC / i-tunes library help please
I have copied lots of my cd`s on to my pc with i-tunes so i can play them on my i-pod, the problem i have is that when i go in to my pc hard drive to look at my library most of my music is in a folder under the title of unknown artist, this is really frustrating as you cannot tell what is what, help please............
RE: PC / i-tunes library help please
Are you connected to the net when you import them into iTunes? If not, you need to be in order for it to access the online database and update the album info.
You can update the songs yourself in iTunes if you know the name of song and artist. To do this just right click and get info (you can do multiple selections).
Do you have the `keep music organised` option ticked in iTunes?
Cheers
Nick

RE: PC / i-tunes library help please
Yes i was connected to the net when imported cd`s/music.
It`s funny as when i launch my i-tunes all the artist / album info is in there it`s just not there in my library on my pc`s hard drive, which is really annoying when you want to listen to something without launching i-tunes or would like to send a particular track/album on to somebody else.

They do have the correct song names etc in i-tunes but in my library folder (on my pc) they are in a folder called unknown artist and the sond titles are song 1,2,3 etc etc so i have say 100 plus song 1,2,3 etc

You might want to post on Apple`s support forum or do a search there. They are pretty good and have helped me in the past.

RE: PC / i-tunes library help please
I`ve noticed this also - have just under 5000 tunes on i-tunes and also have a few that have found their way into an `unkown` folder. I always import when online. Have noticed though that its tunes that have been ripped from an album where I have not ripped all the tracks!
I did make the mistake of dragging a tune into a different `named` folder but then i-tunes can`t find it.

RE: PC / i-tunes library help please
It has happened to virtually all of my ripped i-tune albums, it`s really annoying.
Has anyone found an answer to the problem or found out how to add titles to the files easily ???
Does anyone have a link to a good i-pod / i-tunes forum ???
