Well, thanks to dkuk2000 I`m now a member of torrentleech and I have to say, download speeds, fantastic!!! Maxed out my 4Mb Telewest line by hitting 450Kbs! On the other hand, uploads, nearly none existant!

I could never understand the likes of stanz and ogster when they used to go on about not being able to get their ratio up, as using torrentspy, I always had my upload speed maxed out! I guess that`s easy to do with a site that is full of leechers!

I guess my main point is, whats the point in having this super quick download site if its going to take so long to get your ratio back to a point where you can start downloading again! I`ve currently downloaded 500Mb but only managed to upload ~70Mb. I don`t want to download anything else in case dkuk2000 gets a warning for inviting a leech! :)

There users on there with ratios of something like 4000:1. That can`t really help the smaller users get their ratio...

it`s not hard to maintain ratio on torrent leech, just download stuff that you might not want, but you know will be popular, grab 50 meg or so, then stop downloading & just upload, (ie, just get the sample, or in the case of a dvd`r grab one vob etc) look particularly at 4gig+ dvd`rs if you jump on these very early you can seed the hell out of the sample :) it`s not uncommon for me to get a ratio of 20+ on this type of file.

the site that really give me a headache is the dedicated tv ep site i use, i almost always hit 1.1meg a second, but rarely go over 5kbps on the upload, it really is impossible to manage a good ratio there unless you are either an uploader or you donate...

I downloaded a sample yesterday but I can`t seem to download anymore!

The status of every tracker I load says this:

Failure: access denied, torrent limit reached.

My stats are this:

Ratio: 0.220 Uploaded: 88.75 MB Downloaded: 403.49 MB Slots: 1 slots

Any idea why it`s not letting me download anything else?

I imagine it`s because you`re new and can only do one thing at at a time. Stop seeding the one you are and do the new one.
Which client are you using? Use utorrent.
Pick a newish DVD and select it. when it asks which files you want, untick them all except the sample. You will only download about 50MB but upload GB`s.... :)

also, if you want to imunise yourself for a short while, donate, it`s only a small amount & it removes the wait time as well, + gives you unlimited slots.

Yip, that`s what I have done, the sample tip is a good one as well. Also very happy with the download speeds :D

What?!!? I`m lucky if i get 20-30kb/s on torrent downloads. right now the quickest one is at 6kb/s

where am I going wrong? granted I am only on 2Mb broadband but it should still be better than it is surely?

I`m using utorrent (with port fowarding) and tend to download mostly from torrentspy and now from demonoid. usually it`s movies or tv episodes like 24.

anyone got any suggestions?
