watching divx through my tv - s video or something.

hi there. My p.c is parked pretty much beside my tv so i was thinking of hooking up my p.c. to the t.v. to watch divx and the like. Seemingly i needed an s-video cable which i got and plugged it into my pc and the back of the tv via a scart thing. However i have no picture just blue screen. Any ideas? I have a dell 5150.

cheers

That should be easy, you`ll need a sound cable too.
In the belief that you have vista home premium,
go to controll panel,
r-click on personalisation,
now click open

On the next screen,
top left corner `conect to a projector or other external display`
just follow the options through.

is the tv a CRT or an LCD ? most lcd`s have a vga socket, if using the svcd socket, it`s usually less hassle if you get a svcd to composite adaptor (these comonly used to come packed with your gfx card) then all you need to worry about is the sound, & as the pc`s in the same room, i`d just use the pc speakers.
