Page 1 of A quick "will this work" question

Can someone tell me if this will work, if fitted into this?
I`ve got a few hard drives sitting around doing nothing, if this works then at least I could use them.

It looks like it might do, but I wouldn`t like to say for sure. The one thing that is concerning is the Sumvision box takes 5.25" but only specifies SATA connectors, whilst the Icy Box isn`t totally clear on the connectors it has at the back.

Might be worth asking the seller a question to be sure.

If you`re just want to use using hard drives internally and have a spare 5.25" drive bay then you can get a couple of brackets that will let you fit a 3.5" drive into a 5.25 bay, costs less than a fiver usually.

If you`re looking for a portable external hard drive you can pick up 1TB drives on novatech for 50 quid or so so you`d possibly be better off getting one of those and flogging the spare drives.

Kind of went off the Icy drive rack holder thingie I linked in the first post as the reviews of them of Amazon weren`t that great. (noisy fan & won`t work with a Samsung drive apparently)

Decided to splurge out on one of these instead.

Bit of a gamble as there isn`t much info & I`ve never seen anything like it before. Hopefully it will be okay.
