First go at Tiltshift

Wasn`t the best shot to try it on, just quite liked it but wasn`t interesting enough, and suddenly thought... oh I should give that tiltshift thing a go.

Now I understand how not to take a shot for this kind of thing, anyway. :)

Nice, however, the Scheimpflug principle. I`m not sure if I like the sound of that.

Done digitally or with a shift lens?

I`ve been experimenting with time-lapse photography. You can make little films just using your slr (if you didn`t already know). It`s made a lot easier by use of a little `intervalometer`, which is basically a timer switch to fire the shutter at predetermined intervals. Some cameras have these integrated.

It`s become quite popular to shoot little scenes with tilt shift to give that toy town effect.

Contemplating doing some extreme close-up time-lapses... I never get round to these things. I`ll stick `em up here if I end up with anything worth showing (don`t hold your breath).

A good example (not by me, obv.):

Heh that was digitally, I can`t afford a decent shift lens.

I didn`t think about timelapse, actually I have seen lots of night shots and thought I`d love to do that but I need a wide angle lens. So that`s on the back burner for now. ;)

Time lapse would be easy to do on my camera, as it has an interval timer.

So that`s what they call it!  Can`t f***ing stand it, ever since they started using it to make scenic shots on Coast and Countryfile look like badly-shot miniatures.  I`ve spent years dealing with odd miniature projects where I`ve tied myself in knots trying to get a convincing depth of field.

I`ll be honest. I`m not a huge fan either. It`s a bit of a novelty that once you`ve seen it, that`s it.

I`m guilty of trying out the fads too. `Painting with light` (still like this though!) and E6 through C41 cross-processing, printing on lith paper (I think I`m losing my audience...)
