Choices direct have started their own online e-rental service. Price is the same as anywhere else(1 dvd=9.99 2dvd=14.99 3dvd=19.99) but they do have a great service and by far larger catalogue and stock than all other UK online rental companies.

I have been using MaiboxMovies.com since March 2003, and I can`t fault them. Same price and service is AAA. They also do PS2 and X-Box games.

But I am sure that Choices Direct will provide a very good service as I have never had any problem with them when I buy DVDs.

screenselect.co.uk - A londonbased dvd rental company (featured in BBC Working Lunch) has over 12.500 titles and they have only one price option for unlimited rental and that is 3dvds for £14.99 per month. £3-5 cheaper than the competitors and 7500 titles more than nearest competitor.

12,500! that`s 4 times as much as in-movies and dvdsontap?

Are they a good service or do you work for them cos 3 movies at once for £15 a month is a steal!

Word of warning about ERental. My mate has told me that they are really s*** when it comes to sending out DVDs. He`s been a member for 2 weeks and receives an average of one movie per week, he has over 50 movies in his queue! They ship movies out after 6:00 pm which delays the process for a whole day. I was thinking of joining them but don`t think I`ll bother now.

Been using DVDsOnTap for nearly a year, never had any problem. When they send the DVD and nofity me, I receive it the next morning. Fast service I`d say

I agree....DVDsontap are great....service wise. We regularly get through two per week

Only complaint is they seem a little slow with the latest titles.

I`m with DVDsOnTap my gripe is that it can take them a whole month before they get the newest titles on release and they only have 3,500 compared to some of the others that have at least 8,000. There have been two weeks however where DVDsonTap sent me one title per week. I expect at least 8 a month as reasonable service for a tenner.

Hopefully Netflix come to the UK, as they are the world leader in DVD rental.

Now im thinking i might switch to screen select. In movies are quite good but they just dont have a big enough catelogue and new releases seem to take a while. Another thing, and this may just be paranoia but whenever I send back a movie on the same day i recieved and watched it, there is always a delay of 2-3 days before they send out the next disc. They might be doing it on purpose, it might be the postal service, but always normally it only takes a day for them to recieve the discs, why when i send it quickly, does it take longer? I always ending up getting only 1 round of dvds a week even though I watch them and send them the next day usually.

It is in the Rental companies interest to make sure you go through your rental list as slow as possible. They want you to stay with them as long as possible whilst renting as little as possible.

My advice is you should at least get one on Wednesday and one on Saturday, If you are returning them on Monday and Thursday. If that does not happen join one that does DVDsontap are good at keeping this up but they occasionally lapse.

Has anyone joined screen select and can give me their opinion on them. If they offer 3 at once it should equate to a possible 6 per week! That`s 24 a month for £15.00.
