Page 1 of Tesco good, Parcelforce bad

Ordered a bouquet from Tesco on 5 Jan for a friend`s birthday on 7 Jan. They promise next day delivery and you can also specify a delivery date so there should have been no hassle getting it there on time. Ordered from there as she lives just outside Inverness so it was a hassle getting anyone who could deliver to her.

Get tracking info for Parcelforce 24 and it shows expected delivery date 10 Jan.

Was a bit panicked by that so phoned Tesco at 10am yesterday - was reassured that their systems showed more accurate info and that it would be deffo delivered on the right day.

By 5:30 still no more info on Parcelforce`s website. Phoned Tesco and again was told it had been at the depot and would have been delivered.

I had my doubts but as I hadn`t heard from my pal I held off moaning.

It was finally delivered at 11:15 today (8 Jan).

Phoned Tesco to moan. Didn`t even have to. Very apologetic, offered immediate refund of the full amount (£30).

So thumbs up for Tesco (although don`t use them for time sensitive stuff) and thumbs down for their courier`s, Parcelforce.

Don't even go there Mr Rabbit. :D
I've no doubt most retailers are good but as soon as you have the item sent via any sort of courier (inc Parcel force) its going to be bad news if your not in.
From not getting hold of them via the phone, to them not delivering on a weekend even though you probably paid extra for the privilege of having a fast delivery? :p

Won a auction bid on e-bay recently for a brand new abet replica grandfather clock and paid a fixed fee of £50 to have a secure fast delivery using said parcel force. Came home one day to see the dreaded "as you were not in" card with a footnote saying it was over the fence (6ft). >:( Admittedly it was perched on two bins behind but that's not the point, luckily the clock was very well packaged so I could not be bothered to complain and receive the bog standard book of second-class stamps!

So not taking anything away from your plight Mr Rabbit the moral of the story is use ordinary mail where ever you can and at least if you/they not in it can pick it up at the local sorting office.
