Warning!!! Moviesville.com Rip-Off Merchants

ronaldmacdonald (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 20th October 2005, 20:24

A warning for anyone considering purchasing from this site, I ordered some discs 50 days ago and they never delivered. Examine the site closely and you will see that they have NO contact names, NO contact address, NO contact telephone number and only accept communication through a web form which they NEVER reply to! Splash eat your heart out..

Oh and the final thing to notice that should ring alarm bells...notice there policy of not refunding/shipping until after 45 days? Let me see, how long to Paypal allow you to issue a chargeback? Oh whats that 45 days? Shock how very convenient >:(

I would avoid at all costs unless you like throwing money away

Cheers for the heads up. It`s always appreciated here.

I hate when things like that happen. Just makes you feel like a wally doesn`t it? To be honest I`m getting a bit fed up with internet shopping altogether lately. Aside from quality of service issues, there`s barely any price difference compared to the high street anyway lately to warrant it. I`ve just bought Batman Begins from a supermarket for £14.99. It`s £13.99 on Play. I`d rather pay the extra pound and have it in my hands on the release day.

Hope you didn`t spend too much. If you used your credit card you`ll probably be able to claim your money back through your card supplier. Give them a ring if you did.

ronaldmacdonald movieSville.com purchase

I am Lingling from movieSville.com. We are a Hong Kong company, but we use a US routing center.

We totally refunded your purchase (RonandMcdonald) and sent you a gift worth $200 - The complete series you purchased but did not get. I am sorry you had to go to law enforcement, and I am sorry for the hassle.

This company has new owners now and we are trying to improve shipping and customer service.

All shipments are guaranteed and if not delivery we re-ship or refund.

Recently some shipments to UK and other European countries were delayed, probably due to the UK subway incidents. It took 8 to 10 weeks to arrive, in some very rare cases. We already refunded a few such orders, but believe the items will eventually turn up.

RonaldMacdonald:

We responded to all your queries, contray to what you are claiming here.

45 days shipping time for international surface mail orders, that`s the norm. No co-incidence with PayPal`s policy - we were not aware 45 days is what PayPal stipulates as cut-off time for claims.

For any Surface mail orders, our new policy is to allow 8 weeks for delivery. For Air Mail, allow up to 3 to 6 weeks. For Express, 1 to 2 weeks.

6 weeks, 8 weeks what`s next?

I still haven`t received refunds for all my non-deliveries, if I ever do get a refund(s) then I will retract any comments made here, however, I have a feeling that my comments will hold.

I know it`s none of my business but I`m not sure it`s a good idea coming on a forum as a company displaying his orders everywhere then claiming to be improving things. Would`nt it have been better to solve his problems privately, then he would`ve come back on the forum in time and said that you`d sorted it all out and there was nothing to be concerned about?

Has anybody else here used this company? I`d love to know.

RonaldMacDonald,

I guess it`s not your true name that`s why I found an order back in July I thought it was yours.

But let me know your order # . Did you try to contact customer service via the web form?

I usually don`t do this but if we are Amazon.com we probably won`t come to post here but we are small - I have to take care of our reputation.

I don`t know what happened but recently a lot of shipments to Europe especially UK were either late or lost. We`ve been issuing re-funds and re-shipments. But you need to contact us via the webform.
