Retailer Reviews Forum
I ordered a DVD boxset from movietyme on the 6th December. 11 days later and according their web site my order is `Queued For Process`.
I`ve tried contacting them but not a peep back. Nothing during the order process indicated that they didn`t have stock in (or I wouldn`t have ordered). At this point I imagine I have zero chance of seeing this arrive before Christmas.
I`m not happy. Is this a normal frame of mind for movietyme customers, or have I just been really unlucky? I had gathered from these forums that people seem to like them.
Matt
try using their forum to contact them as emails and phone calls never used to get a response. Though people still seem to use them they don`t get as many comments about them on forums as they used to
RE: Are Movietyme Always Rubbish?
Thanks for the advice: I shall give that a go.

Whenever I`ve ordered from them in the past they`ve taken at least a week to despatch the items... it all arrives quickly once it`s been sent though.

The forum site no longer available. It`s been like that for at least 6 months now.
Emails do take days to be answered unfortunatly, which is a serious pain when you want a fairly quick reply.
The problem is that some items are not actually in stock, they have to wait for a replacement order, but the website has never had a "in stock" or "out of stock" facility, which i know is a big problem to many people.
I used them all the time, have done since they first started, mainly because they had the stuff in weeks before the release date, but thats not the case recently, well its not been for me in the last 6 months or so.
Once conatct is made, they do try to solve problems asap, and try to make sure you the customer gets what they want and without being out of pocket.

RE: Are Movietyme Always Rubbish?
Movietyme are an absolute joke.
Use them at your peril.
Why?
If you dare to complain about their inadequate service you get your account cancelled.
I complained before Xmas about their slow delivery times and also their stupid info system.
Unlike a quality service like PLAYUSA ,whether dvd`s are in stock is a guessing game with Movietyme.
They will put discs as processing for over a week even if its not in stock.
As for hardware---forget it.
While they are quite open about their substandard policy they will sell you a Blu-Ray or HDDVD player for hundreds of pounds and take the profit, but if something goes wrong after ONE month they pass you onto the US arm of the manufacturer,so if your Toshiba dvd player goes wrong after 6 weeks you will be spending more on the phonecalls to the US than the cost of the player.
Even their standard dvd service is so slow.
Use them at your peril.
You have been warned.
