Bought a photo printer from them 2 weeks ago. Well, when I say bought, what I really mean is ORDERED.
In stock, 2-3 days for delivery no problem I thought. Ordered it, saw that they took my money the next day.
Waited a week then called them to see why the order had not arrived, sorry they said, its held up in Validation. We sent you an email the day after you ordered it asking you to provide ID. Checked my email, spam folder et al - no email what a shock. Anyways that same day I sent them my ID with a covering letter asking a manager to contact me.
Waited a day, then been back on again 4 times in 4 days getting 4 different excuses. Result? Two weeks after the order it still hasnt even been despatched. Called to speak to a manager today
"sorry, she is unavailable at the moment"
"thats ok, I will hold for her"
"sorry, we are an inbound call centre and we cannot keep you on hold. Besides we go home in 20 minutes and I cannot guarantee that she will be free by then"
"how about a callback tomorrow"
"sorry, we dont work weekends"
"Well, when can I have a callback? Monday morning?"
"sorry, I cannot guarantee that, we have a 48 hour turnaround time on callbacks"
"how long is it between now and Monday?"
"Obviously that is over 48 hours, but given how late it is, it would have to be 48 hours from Monday"
"thats ridiculous, you have made me wait for 2 weeks, jump through hoops and now you are telling me that I have to wait until probably Wednesday or Thursday next week to get a callback?"
"Yes sir"
I hung up!
I used them a while ago, on recomendation from a friend, to buy a camcorder and wouldn`t use them again. Their customer service is apalling. The camcorder arrived quickly enough but I had bought one of their packages which came with tapes and a wide angle lense. The wide angle lense they sent was the wrong size and did not fit the camera so I called them to say they had sent the wrong one. The person at Pixmania just didn`t seem to understand and kept telling me that if it was faulty i had to return the whole camera. I kept trying to explain that the camera was fine it was just the extra lense that was bought as part of their package but all I got was "If the camera is faulty you must return it all". I gave up in the end and sold the lense on ebay. It was such a simple problem and they just weren`t listening. I found it very frustrating and wouldn`t waste my time using them again.
Typically French customer service unfortunately. In stock means nothing on French websites, as I regularly find out.
The ethos of a lot of French companies is that they are doing you a favour by providing their products for you to purchase.
RE: PIXMANIA HALFWITS!
I`ve always been scared off by their bad reviews, even tho` they often seem to be a lot cheaper.
Just for the record, the "send the whole camera" back scenario is common. I bought a digital camera from PC World (I know, I know, but it was on offer and cheaper than anywhere else...), the camera has accidental cover, I dropped the lens but they want the whole camera back. I don`t trust them with the camera and the DHL packaging they`ve sent for it is way inadequate. So we`re at a stalemate, if I won`t let them have the camera aswell, they won`t replace the lens!
I`ve only used them once and they were great. Cheap camcorder package, delivered quickly, accurately and with no hassle.
Being based in France meant it was a European model, but they included a plug converter too.
Used them a few weeks back. F***ing awful. Never responded to my emails, ignorant bastards. Will not use them again.
Giggity giggity!
