Page 1 of Play.com closing down... will be Marketplace only.

The Low Value Consignment Relief changes screwed them over, and they`re shutting down the Jersey business that sells direct to customers.

From March, they`ll be Marketplace only. I was wondering why so many niche pre-orders were being delisted.

sorry to see them go. I just checked my order history, over 16 pages, more than 400 items & now its come to an end. Guess its Amazon, Zavvi or the supermarkets now.

To be fair, their prices recently have taken the **** compared to Amazon etc. I`ll happily use Play (and have done lots over the years) but it all comes down to price, and if you aren`t competitive enough I`ll go elsewhere. Ironically it was the other way arounf with Play and Amazon a few years ago for most things I buy.

I always used to use Play as preference, but not even sure I have bought anything from there in the past year, saying that I must admit that my online purchasing of dvd`s, Blu Rays and games has slowed down overall so my purchases are a lot lower anyway.
