Play.com RIP?

Jitendar Canth (Reviewer) posted this on Tuesday, 17th March 2015, 18:23

It was inevitable once Rakuten bought out the company, and started up the same service at Rakuten.co.uk

But today I got the e-mail informing of the end of Play.com.
The trouble is that what I go to buy at Play.com is usually  twice the price through the same sellers at Rakuten. So much for being the same thing!

Not used them in years, used to be great for R1 DVD's.
More or less use Amazon nowadays if I ever buy a Blu-Ray.

Back in my DVD buying days these guys were great. Shame really. I think they lost it when the tax laws changed for being based out in Jersey or wherever.
