Well done the Arse! A fantastic result. Going by past performances and results I didn`t give Arsenal a chance but this result may just kick start their season again.

It`s going to be an interesting end to the season....

I reckon it`s bound to be at least one set of English clubs playing each other. :/

The absolute last draw that I`d want is another English club.

Got to fancy Chelsea to go through tonight, but I`m a bit sceptical about Liverpool in that most people I speak to think it`s a done deal whereas I think it`s still a very tricky tie.

What people seem to be disregarding is a 2-0 Inter win will send the game to extra time, and if you ignored all other facts a 2-0 Inter home win wouldn`t have been a ridiculous prediction. Liverpool do have the away goal advantage so it`s highly likely they`ll go through but the tie`s far from over yet.

I obviously didn`t see the Arsenal game last night, but had been saying to my mate who`s an Arsenal fan that I fancied them to go through, although I was thinking with a score draw. He wasn`t confident and was on the phone at half time saying that he was concerned because Milan couldn`t be any worse in the second half so they may have missed their chance to beat them.

Milan have been woeful this season though, only by a hell of run over the last couple of months are they even in contention to qualify for the champions league next year. Really bad home record aswell.

Of course it is going to be tricky going to Internazionale in the San Siro, but then again we were slightly worse off when we 2-1 up going to Juve three years ago and everyone feared for us then too.
The key will probably be the first 20 minutes to half hour, we need to be damn tight for that period and then hopefully with the score still at nil nil (at worst) see what Inter choose to do and then we have to react accordingly.

To be honest in many ways i;d rather be in our spot than in Chelsea`s. You only need Olympiakos to score early like they did against us three years ago and you`ve got one hell of a fight on your hands coz of away goals.

Whilst I cant bring myself to wish chelsea good luck i guess i can go as far as wishing the greeks bad luck :-D

I didn`t realise it was 0-0 the first leg. Me and my mate were discussing last night and both though it was 1-1 first leg, so dismissed the away goals factor as we couldn`t see Olympiakos getting two at Stamford Bridge.

I agree now that I`d rather be in Liverpool`s position (ignoring the two goal lead) in that you know what`s got to be achieved. Liverpool are very good at killing off games and holding out with the lead, which they did against Barca last year, but must be wary that Barca came very, very close to knocking them out in the later stages of the game.

I think if Liverpool score, then it`s pretty much game over, but there`s still a bit of caution of what`s the correct game strategy to play (ie go for the goal and be home free or just invite the pressure and hold out hoping for a goal on the break). Like you said first 30minutes will be very important.

oooh you might be right, thought i heard nil nil this morning but you;ve got me thinking now.

EDIT - yes the paper confirms the goalless first leg scoreline

Haha, a triumph for English football.

Good result and performance though I will admit.

well you could argue we`re not that good at it in the league :-D
and yes Barca did get close to getting the goal they needed last year

Well I never believe you should go out looking for a nil nil, just instills uncertainty and asks for trouble IMO.
However, in this situation, we definately have the advantage of being able to target a strong defensive line and then play from there, and as I said, depending on how its going we`ll be able to see what Inter decide to do and adjust as necessary as the game evolves

I reckon it`ll be one up front without a doubt and 5 across the middle. and not in a way that doubles as a 4-3-3 i;d imagine
