WBA probe Valuev verdict
Russian`s triumph over heavyweight veteran Holyfield under review
The Russian champion won a majority points decision against the 46-year-old American in Switzerland on December 20.
The Zurich crowd booed the result, which saw one judge score the contest a 114-114 draw and the two others awarding the fight to 7ft 2in Valuev 116-112 and 115-114.
Hoyfield was predictably perplexed by the verdicts and the WBA has revealed it is looking into the bout.
"As the World Boxing Association always cares about and respects the fans` and the media`s opinion, the Championship Committee has ordered a panel of judges to review the tape of the fight between Nikolai Valuev and Evander Holyfield, for the WBA Heavyweight title, held last December 20 in Switzerland and will make a decision accordingly in the following weeks," a WBA statement read.
Nothing will come of it obviously but interesting enough that there is actually a review.

RE: Holyfield Fight (Or the BIG FIX!!)
From what I`ve seen neither did enough to win though Holyfield was the busier fighter. Boxing`s always had contentious decisions but there`s no way the decision on the night can be overturned - it`s different watching a fight on TV to sitting at ringside and a terrible precedent would be set. Apparently Sauerland was prepared to give Holyfield a rematch but has now withdrawn the offer as Don Turner made allegations of bribery in a newspaper in Georgia.
