No matter who is in charge we will still have a very poor player pool to pick from.

Allied to this we have the ever so wonderfully talented George "Lets print more tickets than the ground can hold " / "I`ve run a club into the ground yet still managed to get the top job in the SFA" Peat at the helm.

In defence of the lads, they didn`t actually play that badly but when I saw the "4, 5, 1" my heart skipped a beat.
Don`t know how many times the effin thing stopped but not one of them hit the net :(
Had a bad feeling on the way in... didn`t stoap me shoutin` ;) but I hoped the feeling was just a draw waiting to happen.
Burley in or oot, disnay matter... once again we didnay make it through.
And on that note, congrats to the English contingent who will be doing cartwheels tonight after their result.
(and no, that WASN`T sarcastic for anyone thinking it was)

I don`t follow Scotland, I didn`t watch the game.
But I`m aware of the fact that if Burley goes (which looks likely) the SFA practically be at the stage where only a highland league manager will take the job, and even then it`ll be part-time.
Seriously, who the feck would take it?
Butcher?
Hahahahaa!
A guy who bled for England in charge of Scotland.
It`d be funnier if it weren`t possible. :/
Burley must go where?? I dont supose u would like to lay the blame where it lies, with overpaid players who didnt put a shift in when it mattered? we give one of the best sides in the world a right good game (we were damned unlucky last night and deserved at least a draw) but lose 4-0 to norway? Our problem is ironically my clubs problem, we dont turn up away from home, and I am not sure which manager could sort that out tbh.

They may be overpaid in their club careers, but I`d doubt they get much for playing for Scotland.
Perhaps people just need to face facts, that playing for Scotland means nothing to Scottish players any more?
The club game has become diluted, with many of them plying their trade outwith Scotland.
National identities have become blurred over time too, with people not being so fervently pro-Scotland as they perhaps once were.
Were I professional player, I`d be far more concerned with my club career.
You can and may say "Yeah, but that`s you"
I don`t accept I`m alone.
It means nowt now, let it die.
Out of sheer interest, what happens if a country fails to produce a national team?
Has it happened before?

It is a sad fact that managers are given little time at national level now. George Burley has had 20 months and then the scheittehole known as George

Peat
deemed last week to be the correct time to bring up a player missing an open goal and stating that the managers job is up for review.
He is the first phuq I would horse and Gordon

Smith would be the scheittehole driving the taxi for Peat. Pair of erses who have no place in authority in our game.
Some say we have a poor pool of players to pick from but is that really a new thing or is it more a case that supporters of the national squad and clubs have unrealistic expectations.
When we produced players such as Jinky/ Baxter/ other nations produced Bobby Moore/ Franz Beckenbauer and many more world class players for their nations.
When we produced Dalglish/ Souness other nations produced Platini/ Maradonna and filled their national teams with the great players of that time.
Whilst I initially doubted George Burley`s appointment there is little doubt in my mind that we saw the makings of or the potential of our team to achieve some success in the future. By success I mean play well, compete and hopefully qualify for a championship now and then. Realistic ambitions and aims and quite possibly the level of achievement the Scottish fans should consider settling for. A worrying aspect is that some Scotland supporters appear to believe/ think we are a "Major force" :/ :/ that should qualify for all tournaments. If they do then god help any future Scotland manager :(
Now we have the unedifying prospect of a manager being pumped after 8 games. Mind you we should not be surprised as that is about the same time it takes before the fans at club level start baying for their own managers head when the club lose a few games in a row.
George Burley made a grave mistake with the Boyd/ Iwulemo affair . However had the big laddie scored the rest would have faded into insignificance . He is not and will not be the last player to miss a sitter in a major game and George Burley is not nor will he be the only Scotland manager to make a mistake in his team selection.
A bit of a ramble but in a bit of a hurry to get out to my shed to start phannying about :)

Now obvioulsy I dont sit and watch the Scottish national side play BUT what the hell are you on about?
Why exactly should you have qualified for this tournament?
"once again fail to qualify" - it`s Burley`s first attempt to qualify FFS, not like he has failed on 4 occasions is it???
Do you honestly think that changing your manager every 5 minutes is likely to make a major difference??
Could it not just bet that in footballing terms Scotland is, unfortunately, a 3rd world nation?
Could it not be that you have too many players playing in your home, and inferior, league which means they don`t have as much exposure to top class players and thus don`t have the experience to compete and qualify at this level?
Look at Rep of Ireland and Northern Ireland - whilst not qualifying every single time or pulling up trees both in the recent past (RoI over last twenty years and NI this term) have had a fair crack at qualifying.
As far as I am aware they have a high proportion of their squads not playing in Ireland but playing Premier League (or Championship) football in England
I guess the same could be labelled at the Welsh
Maybe rather than looking to blame the bloke who has had one campaign and come up ONE RESULT SHORT you should look at the standard of the game in Scotland and the standard of players you field
For example a certain Paul Gallagher (Scotland, Balckburn and god knows who else striker) said this morning that you havent produced a goalscorer for some time and it showed last night - Problem 1 for you to address
(he did mention the one you have produced seems to have fallen out with all and sundry and doesnt play much for club or country these days)
Sacking Burley will serve almost no purpose but to continue the lack of continuity at the helm and not allow you to attempt to build on this campaigns "near miss"
