season 2 starts on Sunday, continues Monday, "more fictionalised approach" but apparently still gritty and realistic

So was very much looking forward to this and its picked up from the 1st series with cracking acting from all concerned but the plot holes have me pulling out my hair if I had any to spare so MAJOR spoilers ahead to see if its just me being overly picky or if it is very lazy writing
SPOILER:
1st thing was huge coincidence the boys from rival drug gangs been involved but I put that down to tv and moved on, 1st pain was the witness to the killing being able to bump into the killers family?? would never happen surely, next dead boys family show up to pressure the witness to point out the dead boys family royally p***ed me of, I mean a well known troublemaker who's family comprised of a downs syndrome younger sister (who is terrific) and black step mother im sure everyone knew who where they were? then witnesses mother pressures her own daughter to point out the killer instead of her woos of a son? and finally and honestly a ridiculous plot twist it turns out the witness and the dead boys parents drive to where the killers family are in hiding being told the address by the bent cop!!!! why the hell were witnesses needed if they have him on the payroll??
I went along with it, but yes you're right, compared to season 1, that was a bit channel 5 rather than bbc

1 episode left, I think the problem is the gangster stuff isn't done very well
the "Here's Jonny" line made me laugh, but seemed out of place, is he a "gangster" or a wannabe gangster, which is the problem, all those bits are more Emmerdale than The Wire :(
The main cast are fine, Morrisey is good, Lindsay is good, but probably not in it enough, his part needs more fleshing out.

I haven't went back, couldn't bring myself to ignore the plot holes which is so disappointing
