List of Changes:
- Change #1 - The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada is ultimately a human drama that, in its conclusion, offers forgiveness for wrongs committed and a striking note of empathy for lives irrevocably changed. The body of Melquiades Estrada (Julio César Cedillo) is found in a shallow grave in the desert where it was hastily buried after his murder. Making no attempt to solve the crime, the local authorities rapidly transfer the corpse to a pauper[apost]s grave in the cemetery. Pete Perkins (Tommy Lee Jones), a ranch foreman and Melquiades[apost] best friend, takes it upon himself to track down the murderer. A beacon of humanity in this remote part of Texas, Pete forces the killer to transport Melquiades to his own personal Eldorado in Mexico, and so offers his friend a memorable journey to his third burial. <newline> <newline>Directed by Academy-Award winning actor Tommy Lee Jones in his first feature film as a director, the film picked up awards for Best Actor for Tommy Lee Jones and Best Screenplay for Guillermo Arriaga at the recent Cannes Film Festival. Arriaga[apost]s previous credits include the award winning Amore Perros and 21 Grams. The film[apost]s stunning landscape is captured by two-time Academy Award winning cinematographer Chris Menges.
